Teams to watch - Memorial

Looking to Repeat
Below are teams that will be attending the Great American Shoot-Out Memorial Summer Tip Off who have gotten to a title game in at least one of the GASO spring events.

SABO
Seth Engelken
SABO is coming off a Great American Shoot-Out title run, capturing the San Antonio championship a few weeks ago. TexasHoops will take another look at Kyle Murphy who had 26 three-pointers in just five games. Besides Murphy, SABO brings length with sophomore Clevon Brown in the middle as a shot-blocker.
DJH5-Baker
Stacy Houston
DJH5 Baker put together two strong runs in the first two spring GASO's, one resulted in a championship. C.J. Massingburg is always on display with his long distance shooting and with their guard play being strong from the point to the wings, DJH5 is equip for a run in the Memorial Summer Tip-Off, especially with the addition of unsigned senior Aundre Jackson.
Dallas Mustangs
Tony Johnson
The Mustangs are always a must see. The Older "17s" group has Admon Gilder who is looking to add to his reputation of being one of the state's best overall guards. Back in March, Gilder guided the Mustangs to a GASO championship, and with athletes like Michael Kolawole and Hassan Thomas, the Mustangs will be a team to beat.
Next Level Cats
Brad Styles
These Cats have a squad full of unsigned seniors which has helped win a championship in San Antonio and a runner up to the title back in March. Their experience is a huge advantage and the players have good chemistry on the floor. Winzel Sterling is their go to guard that leads the charge for the cats.
Triumph Gold Select
Steve Adams
WIth a mixture of unsigned players and top 2015s, Gold can work uptempo and will slow it down to get their bigs involved. Mason Riggins and Emmanuel Nzekwesi are super athletes that can give their opponents trouble inside. They are also equip with shooters on the wings and play as a team, running sets and playing hard on the defensive side of the ball.
Looking to take the next step
FV 5:17
Aaron Smith
This guard heavy squad has speed in transition and shooters with range. FV 5:17 took Nike Team Texas down to the last minutes of the championship game during the March GASO. FV will look towards Ka-Juan Malveau, Nic Thomas and Sean Choate to do most of the scoring, but they will have to be on all weekend to keep their title hopes alive.
Dallas Seawolves
Lawrence Johns
The Seawolves came close to a GASO crown in March, but lost out to the Lewisville Farmers high school team. Now that the Farmers have stopped playing as a team for now, the Seawolves went and picked up Anthony Davis, the Farmers star forward. Davis will bring more of an inside/out game that they will need to get deep into this weekend's tourney. They do have strong guard play from Deondre Burns and Landon Goesling.
Dallas Mustangs Blue
Tony Johnson
The Mustangs Blue fell short to two time GASO champs, Texas Select. This Mustang team is young as they are made up of 2016's. Nate Morris is the catalyst and is a top four player in the class in the TexasHoops.com 2016 rankings. Along with Morris manning the paint, he has help from athlete guards like Mark Crowe and Tyrick Bennett.
D Will Elite 2015
Denise Smith
D WIll is a type of team that can go on a roll behind the shooting touch of Antwon Portley. Portley can get hot and drain perimeter shots and get the ball up through traffic. But one more reason for any D Will success is going to come from versatile forward Terrance Hubby. If he can get to the basket to score or rebound, teams will find it hard to stop him.
More to consider
Dallas Showtyme
Erven "Big E" Davis
There is some hype coming into this weekend and it is surrounding the guard of Dallas Showtyme, Corinthian Ramsey. Ramsey had been hurt during the first two GASO tournaments held in the Dallas-area, so he maybe the missing piece in the search for a Showtyme title.
TX D1 Ambassadors -San Antonio
Paul Josephs
The Ambassadors will work hard from start to finish and they will rely on their guard play. A.J. McGlown is one of the team's threats with the ball in his hands, but they have many players that can breakdown their opponents.
Basketball University 16 Black
Rhossi Carron
To add the Houston flavor to the tourney, Basketball U has a team with all 2016's. These sophomores are here to impress and TexasHoops.com will be watching. Braden Kopp is a TexasHoops Combine standout that is a true leader on the floor. Elijah Lee will handle the ball handling duties and run the team.
Texas Hardwood Prospects
Tim Farley
After watching the Hardwood Prospects in San Antonio, they showed a style of play that can made for a GASO championship. They are well balanced with shooters and inside presence. Armoni Brooks is the team's sharp shooter, while David Beck, Tim Holland and Torenzo Saunders take care of the basket.
Keep in mind: Dallas Heroes 2015, Dream Team 2016, San Antonio Rohawks, San Antonio Celtics, Texas Select 2016,
