"I choose Houston because (Head) Coach (Kelvin) Sampson is very intelligent and he knows exactly what he wants out of his program", said Adewunmi. "He is building a program with a big future and I can come in and contribute and help with achieving the goals that coach Sampson has set for the program."

Adewunmi continues with other factors that went into his decision.

"Distance was a key factor," Adewunmi added. "It also has the whole college experience that I am looking for. The atmosphere is great, along with the academics and basketball. There were some pretty impressive schools that offered me, but I feel that Houston will give me the whole package of the college life."

The commitment to Houston comes on the day Adewunmi took his unofficial visit. The No.19 overall player in the state says that relationships are all that matter.

"I found a head coach that I can trust and that's why I made my decision early without visiting. I feel if the coach is worth trusting, then at the end of the day, that's the school and the program that I want to be a part of. He will push me to reach my full potential and in return, I will assist in achieving the goals of the program."

Adewunmi takes the Houston Cougar offer over Air Force, Boise State, Central Michigan, Louisiana Tech, Oral Roberts, Pepperdine, Rhode Island, Rice, Sam Houston State, UNT, UTA, Utah State, and UTEP.
