Memorial Day GASO Game Faces: Dehoyos, Rene & Young are Shooters

Alex Dehoyos - Texas D1 Houston - Friendswood 2018

Alex Dehoyos serves as a calming presence for his team, a steady hand at the point who get his team into the offense and creates. Dehoyos played mistake-free basketball for much of the Memorial Day weekend and picked his spots to score on the offensive end. He shoots from range at a high clip and has excellent movement off the ball, using cuts and screens to free himself for an open look

Nicolas Rene - Texas Impact 4:13 - 2018

Nick Rene has put the TexasHoops/GASO Staff on notice over the weekend, showing evaluators that he can be a consistent knockdown shooter from all over the court. While he might not have blown people away with the numbers he put up, he hit 3 or 4 threes in seemingly every game he played. That level of consistency, coupled with a very solid all-around game makes him a standout on the court.

Braylen Young - 3D Empire - Keller Central 2018

It's really easy to generalize the Young triplets as having the same games, but this weekend especially Braylen Young stood out to the TexasHoops/GASO staff. Young has put up big numbers from the off-guard spot and is looking for his shot in the offense more and more as the summer progresses. Young is a gritty defender who is great coming off the help side, and actively looks to feed it inside to 3D's bigs. Opposing teams simply can not leave Young open, which in turn spaces the floor for teammates.
