Sanni Hoops Gold 76 Texas D1 Houston 59

Sanni Hoops Gold captured their 3rd GASO championship of the summer, this time taking down Texas D1 Houston for the NBA White bracket title. The win moved Sanni Hoops to the only team this summer to have a 100% success rate at the Great American Shoot-Out for winning championships. Ajare Sanni (Clear Lake 2018) got to the line and scored the ball like he's expected to, putting up 23 to go with 19 from fellow Clear Lake standout Riley Abercrombie in a winning effort. The two of them had a huge, with interest and offers starting to pour in, especially for Abercrombie. Texas D1 Houston was unable to replicate the kind of play that saw them knock off RM5 in the semis, and fell in the final. Gabe Bazile (Atascocita 2018) hit 4 threes in part of a 14-point game and really showed what he's about this weekend. Alex Dehoyos (Friendswood 2018) scored 12 of his 14 in the second half to try and make things interesting, but it was a case of Sanni having the answer on offense at every turn as they took home the title.

Team Stackz Elite

Team Stackz Elite 57 Factory Elite (AZ) 45

Ja'Mare Redus (Eisenhower 2019) dropped a 20-piece on Factory Elite to round off Stackz Elite's Live Period GASO with a championship. Stackz raced out to a 6-point halftime lead, before doubling that advantage by the end of the game for a 12-point win. Uche Dibiamaka (Second Baptist 2018) added 14 for Stackz in the win. Factory wrapped up a good weekend of play with a tough loss in the title game, but made their presence known to a field full of Texas teams. Cedric Bridges (Valley Vista 2018) led the way with 12 as Emmanuel Taban (Apollo 2019) scoring 10 in a losing effort.

TW3D Coalition

TW3D Coalition 81 A-Level Eagles 69

Max Abmas (Jesuit 2019) hit 27 points when his team needed it the most, leading Coalition to a NBA Blue bracket championship at A-Level Eagles' expense. Abmas showed off his range and got to the line often for Coalition, with DJ Arnold getting off to a hot start by hitting 3 threes in the opening half. Cameron Hill did all he could to keep Eagles in the game, stuffing the stat sheet in a 24-point day. Rex Hollis and Kenneth Simmons went for 17 and 15 respectively as Eagles met their match after an impressive weekend run to the championship game.

OnPoint Hoops

OnPoint Hoops 80 M&E Elite Black 58

Oklahoma-based OnPoint Hoops will be going back across the Red River with some hardware, thanks in large part to the inspired play of Chris Braggs (Putnam City North 2018) in their NBA Red bracket title victory over M&E Elite. Braggs scored 21 points from all over the court, with big name prospect Adokiye Iyaye (Putnam City North 2018) capping off a head turning weekend with a 14-point game. M&E Elite were unable to hit the same heights offensively that had seen them make it all the way to the championship game, with Jalen Dunlap (Hightower 2017) leading them with 17 and Jordyn Adams (Silsbee 2019) adding 9.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES

Texas Titans 2020

Texas Titans 2020 64 Texas D1 Ambassadors Austin 16U 55

Texas Titans have quite the talented team of 2020 talent assembled, and showed that in a 9-point win over D1 Ambassadors Austin for the NCAA Red Championship. Cade Cunningham (Arlington Bowie) looks like a bonafide future star and turned in a double-double of 15 points and 11 boards in the championship game. Mike Miles was a force from the outside, cashing 4 threes in part of a 20-point game as Tyler McGhie put up 10 in a winning effort. D1 Austin made yet another run to an NCAA championship game, but came up just short again, with Josh James leading the way for them in a 14-point outing. Enzo Arnold chipped in with 10 in the loss.

NOLA23 16U 61 Champions Inc. 51

NOLA23 was another out of state squad to take home a championship at the Live Period GASO, knocking off Champions Inc. by 10 to take some hardware back with them to Louisiana. After a low scoring first half, NOLA23 came out firing in the second to give them a push to the championship. Champions Inc. led by 2 at the half, but their offense went flat after the break as they fell in the final game of the weekend.

NOTABLE SHOWCASE GAMES

Dallas Mustangs 82 3D Empire 62

Dallas Mustangs really made waves this weekend, beating some more well-known teams and doing it in their own trademark style. Their weekend capping 20-point win over 3D Empire was just another example of their high levels of play over the weekend. Joel Murray (Rowlett 2018) scored a team high 18-points as Mustangs spread out their scoring with everyone on the team chipping in with points. Jordan Buck (Bishop Lynch 2018) continued to shoot the ball at a high clip with an 11-point game, and is turning into an intriguing sleeper recruit in his class with his blend of size and skill. Jase Townsend (Skyline 2018) is still the heartbeat of this team, and once again impressed by scoring 11 and getting teammates involved. 3D's Carson Hughes (Keller 2018) made a strong case for himself as a lights out shooter over the course of the weekend, and finished with 15 points while Mason Hix (Northwest 2018) had 11 in the loss.

Texas Impact 4:13 72 Basketball University 17U Gold 52

Samuell Williamson (Rockwall 2019) came out on fire, scoring 8 of his team's first 10 points as Texas Impact put together a comprehensive 20-point win over Basketball University Gold. Williamson ended the game with 18 points, just behind teammate Marcus Hill (Dallas Jesuit 2018) who scored 20. Xavier Bryant (Greenhill 2018) once again looked like a top PG in the area and defended doggedly against 5-star recruit Quentin Grimes (College Park 2018). Grimes still would go for 26 in the game and got his team to back within 5 about halfway through the second half, but from there on out the game was all Impact.

Houston Hoops 16U EYBL 67 Texas Hardwood Prospects Elite 62 F/OT

Houston Hoops' 16U squad had to go to overtime to win their final game of the weekend, but eventually came out with the 5-point win over THP Elite. Quinn Slazinski (Huntington Prep 2019) put up a 19-point effort to lead Hoops to the win, with Montavious Murphy (Klein Collins 2019) coming up clutch with 6 of his 16 points in the overtime period. Jordan Turner (Homeschool/GLV 2019) popped up with 14 in the win. THP will leave the Live Period GASO with a sour taste in their mouth, but on the whole played really well this weekend and beat some big name prospects. Dylan Disu (Hendrickson 2019) caught fire in the second half, hitting 3 threes to keep his team in the game as part of a 19-point day. Lamar-bound Davion Buster (Lanier 2018) helped out with 15 as THP Elite's offense seemed to just run out of gas in OT.
