Jase Febres, next level shooter talks recruitment

Six-foot-4 shooting guard Jase Febres of (Spring) Westfield High Schol capped off a spectacular summer with a showing at the Live Period GASO that saw him increase his total offers to 22. Febres shot the lights out for Texas PRO 2017 in Duncanville and now looks to ride this wave of momentum into his recruitment.

"This summer was definitely one of the best summers I've had," Febres said. "I shot the ball really well and feel I was able to show coaches what I can do."

"I want to go somewhere where I can show what I can do, maybe have the ball in my hands," Febres told TexasHoops.com. "I'm looking for a program that plays at a fast tempo and suits my game."

Febres, the No.13 ranked player in the state, turned plenty of heads this summer, and currently holds offers from the likes of Auburn, Baylor, Boise State, Colorado, Duquesne, Houston, Kansas State, North Carolina State, Rice, Stanford, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulane, UTA, UTEP, UTSA, UW-Milwaukee, Washington, Washington State, and West Virginia.

So far Febres has gone on unofficial visits to Texas, Baylor, Houston, Rice, Lamar, and Colorado, and is visiting Texas A&M, Thursday (August 11).

"Academics are important and I want to major in Orthodontics," Febres said. "But basketball is the deciding factor as to where I go."

Febres also said he wants to commit in the fall, before his upcoming senior season.

"College coaches all really like the way I shoot the ball, and also like my defense and rebounding," Febres said. "The area they want me to improve in is my pick and roll game."

Febres has an elite shooting stroke and offers college programs a proven scoring option at the 2 or 3 guard. He is a very efficient shooter both with his feet set and on the move, and can really explode from behind the arc. And at 6-foot-4, Febres is a versatile defender on the perimeter who rebounds well for his position.
