It was just another day at the Great American Shoot-Out for the boys from Houston. It was the Swoosh's sixth final in seven trys. This time the Houston Swoosh 17s Blue were to face the Southeast Texas All-Stars Elite in the 17th annual GASO.

The game looked to be in control of the Swoosh's hands as they led by 11 points heading into the half (40-29), despite the shooting frenzy of Brandon Moton. Moton had 22 of the 29 points that Southeast produced in the first of two 16 minute halves.

With just seconds left to go in the second half, SE Texas All-Stars pulled within two and had a chance to tie with six seconds left. Point guard, David Redmon penetrated the Swoosh defense only to have the ball deflict off one of his own teammates hands. South East immediately fouled Lance Pevehouse to place him at the free throw line for two. Pevehouse uncharacteristly missed both shots to give South East a chance for the rebound, but long armed DeAndre Jordan was there to grab the rebound and was fouled. This time Swoosh didn't waste the opportunity. Jordan went to the line and hit both shots to seal their second consecutive GASO Denton Championship.
