Texas Heat TA 61 Texas Heat STS 34
In the championship game, the Texas Heat from out east had both of their squads representing. The Heat TA is coached by Tommy Aldridge and his son Lance coaches the STS group.
Tom Aldridge is also the head girls' coach of Longview high school for 30 plus years. He wants to give back to basketball by helping girls gather interest to play at the next level.
"We started back in 1993 and we are stuck in the Piney woods and our program doesn't turn anyone away," said Aldridge. "We try to get everyone involved. We would like to have seven or eight teams. There is quite a bit of talent out east and they may not all be division 1, but they can play d-II, JuCo. Our goal is to get these players to college, and they are 1A, 2A, and 3A girls. They are all small school girls but they have talent and can play."
