SABO Gold 72 Houston Defenders 16-Dill 70

After being up by as many as 16 in the first half against the Defenders, SABO had to come from behind to claim their San Antonio GASO Championship. With under a minute to go, Parker Gettys three-pointer put SABO up for good and gave them the title. Both Kobe Magee and Jawon Anderson finished with a team high 15 points. Leading the way in the scoring column for the game was Defenders Bryson Etienne with 19.

NBA CHAMPIONSHIP RED

Urban ASAK Elite 17U 57 Lockdown Basketball 54

Two Killeen area prospects, Devyn Brewton and Matthew Glaze combined for 33 points in ASAK's three-point championship win. Brewton finished with 17 and Glaze hit 16. Shasirae Harvey scored a team-high of 12 for Lockdown.

NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BLUE

Alevel Eagles 92 Next Level Raiders 66

Five players from Alevels reached double-digits in their 26 point win. One of the hardest working teams around, the Eagles Rex Hollis finished with a game-high 20 points, Taj Simmons went for 17 (15 in the first half), Reggie Miller added 16, Kenneth Morris tallied 14 and Patrick Harris capped off his weekend with 12 points. Quenton Coleman shot his way to a team-high 16 points for the Raiders. Ricardo Valdez hit 14, Stanley Umude added 12, and Jonathan Salazar finished with 10.

NBA CHAMPIONSHIP GREEN

Texas Impact 71 Carter Elite 53

Texas Impact traveled from Dallas and came away with a GASO title. They scored all but two field goals from inside the arc. Jaylon Rucker scored 15, Daishaun Woods went for 13 and Xavier Bryant dropped in 11. All eight players scored for Texas Impact. Carter Elite received 12 points from Burone Edwards and 10 from Brandon Carter.


Note: Pool D had two champions - Alevel Eagles and Texas Impact, with Texas Tigers falling to Houston Defenders in semi-finals.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP

San Antonio GATA V 57 Celtics 52

San Antonio GATA V extended their Great American Shoot-Out winning streak to three, as the team (with the same players) has collected hardware from a 2014 8th grade championship, a 2015 NIT championship and now, a NCAA championship.

GATA was lead by both Timothy Benavides and Anthony Avila who each scored 15 points, and teammate A.J. Clark tallied 13. For the Celtics, Xavier Elam dropped in 13.

NIT CHAMPIONSHIP

TX D1 Ambassadors - Austin 15U Orange 64 San Antonio Hardwork 2020 62

Trevor Willis led the Ambassadors with 16 points and hit three three-pointers in the title game. Ryan Ward added four three-pointers for 12 points and Josh Jones scored around the rim for 14 points. Hardwork, an impressive set of 8th graders were led by Braelon Seals and his game-high 17 points, while Zacory Fitzgerald scored 14 and Journee Phillips chipped in 14.
