GASO Pearland Championship

Pearland - The Great American Shoot-Out inches one step closer to the July Open Period by finishing it's the sixth GASO of the circuit.

Seven teams were crowned champions of their divisions, and recaps are below.

Texas PRO 66 Basketball University-AG 63

After being down 37-25 at halftime, Texas PRO outscored Basketball University 41-26 in the second half. PRO had to fight back from an 18 point deficit and Jules Moor was the MVP for Texas PRO in the second, hitting 14 of his game-high 17 points. Moor was joined by three other teammates who reached double figures. Kendric Davis scored 14 points, Eric Parrish had 13 and John Walker chipped in with 12.

Miller Kopp led Basketball U with 15 points, followed by Greg Bowie and his 13, Randy Brumant's 12 and Anderson Tolbert finished the game with 11 points that he scored all in the first half.

NBA CHAMPIONSHIP RED

SABO Gold 81 FV 5:17 67

It was the Kobe MaGee show as he scored 37 points in the finals of the NBA Blue title game to give SABO its third straight summer GASO championship. Magee was supported on the offensive side of the ball by Lamont Simmons and his 16 points, and both Jeff Fesperman and River Reed chipped in with 11.

Brandon Battle did his best to fight for the point title in the game as he finished with 31.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP

Houston Rookies 56 Corpus Christi Bruins 49 - OT

It was an emotional win for the Houston Rookies as they held off the Corpus Christi Bruins to win the NCAA crown in overtime. Andrew Clopton scored all of the Rookies seven points in the extra two minutes of play and finished with 15 points. The Rookies were lead by Durey Caldwell and his 16 points.

The Bruins' John Cantu went for 14 points and Creighton Avery added 13.

NIT CHAMPIONSHIP

Texas Takeover 54 Basketball University 15 38

Texas Takeover received the help of four members reaching double figures in the 16 point victory. Quante Julian had a team-high of 14 points, both David Kincade and Jalen Wydermyer each scored 12 and Shae Suiaunoa finished with 10.

The only Basketball University player to surpass the double figure mark was Pierce Hellums. Hellums finished with a game-high 15 points.

8TH GRADE CHAMPIONSHIP

Texas Elite-Mel 66 Shooting Stars 63

It was Hill who put up a game-high of 19 points to help lead Texas Elite to a title, after trailing the Shooting Stars at halftime by 12 points, 34-22. Holloway tallied 13 points for Texas Elite.

Shooting Stars had three players in double-figures. Wesley tied for a game-high 19 points, Trace added 12 and Derrick had 11.

Neither teams did not provide last names.
