GASO Live Period - Pool Play Game Recaps

Sanni Hoops 65 NHLA Perez 17's 55

Ajare Sanni (Clear Lake 2018) and Caleb Grill (Maize KS 2019) produced a Friday night duel in front of a full row of Division 1 coaches to open the Live Period GASO. After a tight and cagey game left the game tied at 55 with just over 3 minutes to play, up stepped Kenny Brown to knock down back to back threes for Sanni Hoops to spark a 10-0 run to end the game. Grill led all scorers with 20 for NLHA, while Sanni wasn't too far behind, scoring 18. Sanni Hoops led for most of the first half before an early burst in the 2nd half put NLHA in the drivers' seat. But Sanni Hoops were able to lock in defensively and grind out a win to move to 1-0 on the weekend.

3D Empire 74 Arkansas Wings 17's Red 61

3D Empire had 4 players score in double figures in a complete team victory over Arkansas Wings Red. Carson Hughes (Keller 2018), Mason Hix (Cleburne 2018), Braylen Young (Keller Central 2018) and Zach Rouseau (Bishop Lynch 2018) each posted doubles, while Jamal Gaines (Universal Academy 2018) was a beast on the boards and in the paint. Empire shot the ball well from deep as a team and kept the contest out of reach for Wings after their initial run in the first half.

TNBA 2018's 63 Nike ProSkills 17U Black 61

Andrew Eberhardt (Dawson 2018) caught fire in this one, knocking down 7 treys for 21 points as TNBA held on to defeat ProSkills Black in the opening game of the Live Period GASO for both teams. Greg Harbor (Kempner 2018) and Merdarius Roberts (FB Hightower 2018) each came up with 9 a piece for TNBA in the win. Nike ProSkills kept it close the whole way, but just couldn't seem to get over the hump and take control of the contest. Prosper's six-foot-5 2018 Zach Wrightsil led the charge with a strong outing of 19 points. Brenton Mills (Allen 2018) chipped in with 13.

Corpus Christi Bruins 48 Texas Tigers Black 44

Daniel Roberson (West Oso 2018) burst onto the GASO scene with a 21-point performance, hitting 4 threes and showcasing some real talent at the off-guard slot. Six-foot-8 big man Dalin Williams looks to have bounced back from the injury that ruled him out of the playoffs with West Texas, scoring 13 points in his return to the GASO. Both teams struggled to score for large stretches of the game, with free throws counting for a large percentage of each team's points. Charles Henderson (MacArthur 2018) led Tigers Black with 13, while fellow MacArthur man D'Angelo Stevens added 8 in the loss.
