T.J. Starks who was the best player on the court to end the season for Lancaster as they won the UIL 5A State title, picked up where he left off. Starks is playing with Urban DFW Elite and his shooting touch was on displayed as he drained five three-pointers and finished with 21 points.l in Urban's 90-48 against 3D Empire.

Mansfield Summit's point guard Grant Sherfield headed into the GASO Friday night suiting up for Marcus Smart's YGC36 17 Elite. Sherfield, a freshman is going to be a hot name in the coming weeks and the 6-foot-2 prospect is a scorer. Sherfield went for 21 points against TX D1 Ambassadors 17s. He is quick and gets to the hole fast and finishes in the lane. Sherfield keeps the defense off balance with his ability to score from behind the arc.

Note, that Sherfield has already unofficially visited Kansas, and Oklahoma State was in to catch the Sherfield Friday morning during his athletic period.

SABO Gold's Jeff Fesperman took a while to get going, but the San Antonio Churchill high school star git into a good rhythm and started to get the ball into the hole. Fesperman who recently went on an official visit to the Air Force Academy drove by his opponent and pull-up from 8-12 feet. He also connected on four three-pointers for 19 points.

GASO's Unsigned Senior Hype

FV 5:17 was matched up against the Texas Bluechips 17 Blue squad to close out the night at the Bob Knight Fieldhouse. After beating tied 60 all, FV 5:17 finished off the game on a 16-7 run to take their first out of two pool games, 76-67.

Unsigned senior Jamar Sandifer capped off his day by rattling off 31 points in the victory. The 6-foot-3 Dallas Triple A prospect-packed a punch around the rim and dropped in jumpers and sprinkles a few three-pointers.

Not to be out done was 6-foot-5 KeTarrious Bouchum (Dallas Madison) of the Texas Bluechips 17 Blue. Bouchum finished the night with 22 and showed off his high flying ability as an athlete that can explode to the rim. He turned some heads of junior college coaches from Butler College (KS) and Paris head coach Bobby Taylor, who both were in attendance tonight.

Bouchum, was almost automatic in the open court but did display some shiftiness from the wing.

GASO's Early Sleeper Alert

Luke Schultz (Our Lady of the Hills) is all of 6-foot-10 and mans the middle for SABO Gold. Schultz is a throwback big-man who creates space and scores by getting set on the block. He is still a work in progress, but Schultz knows how to plant himself on the block, rebound and show a little craftiness around the rim.

The current 125th ranked player by TexasHoops.com, looks to make a big leap in his ranking and recruitment with his size and power basketball. There is still plenty to polish up, but size is always a must have on any division one team.

Teammate of Starks that played a hand in Urban's 42-point win was junior Preston Enloe (Hebron) also got into the act of shooting for Urban sinking seven three-pointers for 21 points. Enloe, who also had a great showing at the Texas Hoops Combine a few weeks ago, is a strong and gifted shooter at 6-foot-2.

New Kid on the Block

One of the most requested topics on the Great American Shoot-Out circuit is the New Kid on the Block coverage. The first of the season is Andrija Rostanivic. Listed at 6-foot-10, The Serbian native attends North Texas Grandbury Academy and is traveling with Texas Select Slam 17s.

Rostanivic is long and like most forgein players like to stretch the defender out past the 3-point line. He has a nice stroke, skill and runs runs the floor.
