Texas D1 Houston

Team Profile: Texas D1 Houston has been one of the most consistent teams on the GASO circuit this summer. D1 Houston plays a balanced team game on offense and are well-drilled defensively. They have a pair of talented point guards in Alex Dehoyos (Friendswood 2018) and a now 100% healthy Luke Pluymen (Westlake 2018), who operate the offense with precision. Deon Blakemore (College Park 2018) provides a solid scoring option in the backcourt. Gabe Bazile (Atascocita 2018) has been breaking out and putting up big numbers lately, and 6-foot-6 athlete Simeon Soname (Shadow Creek 2018) holds everything together in the middle.

Tournament Outlook: D1 Houston will meet up with North Texas Dynasty 2018 and OnPoint Hoops, before a contest with Next Level Raiders 2018 before bracket play begins.

Texas PRO 17 Gold

Team Profile: Texas PRO is another team with some big names who look poised to break out. PRO will be actively looking to build on a good showing at the Adidas Gauntlet last weekend. Texas large private school player of he year Jaedon LeDee (Kinkaid 2018) is a 6-foot-9 attacking threat who can do a little bit of everything offensively with a college-ready frame. TCU-commit Kendric Davis (Sam Houston 2018) will be slicing through defenses with his normal flair. Zach Nutall (Bryan 2018) has had a huge summer, rising from unranked to No.17 in the TexasHoops rankings, and will look to keep that momentum going in the Live Period. Another guard to look out for is Romello Wilbert (the Woodlands 2018), who had a good tournament at the Adidas Gauntlet.

Tournament Outlook: Texas PRO will be facing Marcus Smart YGC36 in their pool opener, before a meeting with 3D Empire beckons before they get into bracket play. With the kind of firepower they possess, it's not hard to envision a lot of wins this weekend being chalked up by Texas PRO.

Basketball University 17U Gold

Team Outlook: Basketball University's 17U Gold team is up there with the most star-studded squads at the Live Period GASO. The Houston based team has been drawing attention from coaches all across the country, and it isn't hard to see why. New class of 2018 No.1 recruit Quentin Grimes (College Park) has caught major high D1 offers and interest this summer and will be a huge draw for crowds at the Live Period. Texas A&M commit Sahvir Wheeler (Houston Christian 2019) is one of the top guards in the state, and will be looking to feed inside presence Souleymane Doumbia the (Athlos 2018) for easy dunks. Charles Smith IV (Westbury Christian 2019) is another name you need to know, and plenty of programs are sure to take note of his game this weekend.

Tournament Outlook: Basketball University will play a loaded schedule against a DFW heavy pool at the Live Period GASO. They will take on YGC36, Nike Pro Skills 17U EYBL, and then wrap up pool play with Texas Impact 4:13.
