The Atascocita Eagles finished the night of action with a 78-67 win over the Houston Sam Houston Tigers.

The Eagles "Big 4" all hit in double figures and junior forward Fabian White was the difference as he finished with 17 points, going 8-for-9 from the field and added six rebounds and three blocks. Purdue-bound Carsen Edwards had his typical game scoring 19 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and three assists. Point guard Greg Shead went for 13 of his own while going 4-for-6 from the field and Brandon Loville chipped in 10 points and totaled seven rebounds.

For the Tigers, sophomore point guard, Kendric Davis led all scorers with 20 points and also led the game with seven assists. Houston St. Thomas signee Kennard Robinson scored 14 points, and both Ja'Qualin Green Duplechain and Terrell Wilson tallied 11.

Chants of "Get the ball to Marques" filled the Alamodome air as the DeSoto Eagles were having to fight off and catch the hometown squad, the Cibolo Steele Knights.

DeSoto was down as many as four points in the fourth quarter when Steele held a 42-38 lead with 7:42. In the final six minutes of regulation and through the overtime period, Marques Bolden scored 10, grabbed four rebounds, but most importantly he alter shots and the decision making of the Knights guards.

The Eagles ended the game on a 20-11 run to win 58-53 after the game was tied at 51 to end the fourth.

Bolden was efficient converting on 11-of-14 from the field and hitting 9-out-10 free-throws fro 31 points. The McDonald's All-American also had 16 rebounds and two blocks.

The other Eagles' "big man" is Oregon football signee Tristen Wallace who hit double-figures with 11 points and dished out five assists.

Unsigned senior Kijana Love of Steele had an impressive game and was a big reason for the Knights' success going for 20 points, six rebounds, two assists. Elijah Payne chipped in with 11 and sophomore Gerald Liddell had 10 points four boards and two blocks before fouling out.

GAME 3: 4A Silsbee 89 Levelland 47

The Dallas Lincoln Tigers beat the La Marque Cougars 62-59 to advance to the finals. The difference in the game was the 27 turnovers that the Tigers caused which led to 26 points.

Kortrijk Miles went for 13 points on a 6-for-13 shooting night, and Jabari Richardson tallied ten on a near perfect scoring night going 5-for-6.

Four Cougars hit 11 or more points. Jauron Freeman lead all scorers with 20 hitting 9-of-9 from the free-throw line while Tavier Blaine went for 15, LaDerrious Arvie scored 13 on 6-for-8, and Raymond Stubblefield rounds out the Cougars double-digit scorers with 11. Stubblefield grabbed ten rebounds.

It was all Silsbee Tigers from start to finish as they jumped out to a 12 point lead after the first quarter (24-12) against the Levelland Lobos. The lead went to 23 at the half, 46-23 and the Tigers finished the game with a 42 point victory, 89-47.

Freshman Devon McCain, Kalon Barnes, Michael McCain, Jordyn Adams, and Travious Grubbs all scored in double digits. Devon had a team-high 16, Barnes scored 15, Michael had 12 and both Adams and Grubbs finished with 10. Barnes and Devon McCain both added 11 rebounds each.

The Lobos received 23 points from Kentton Williams (game-high) and Nick Gerber threw in 10 of his own.

Canadian held on to a one-point lead as the clock was winding down and Thorndale missed two opportunities near the rim. With a 47-46 win, Canadian advances to the finals in 2A as they did a year ago, but, this time, they will meet Muenster.

Tanner Schafer (senior) grabbed 15 boards and added eight points off a 4-for-8 shooting performance for Canadian. Teammates Sawyer Cook, a senior and junior Cameron Copley each scored in double digits. Cook hit 11 while Copley finished with 10.

Thorndale relied on a 7-for-18 day from senior Bradley Betak which gave him a game-high 21 points.Sophomore Ty Prince totaled 12 points and snatched eight rebounds.

The Big Sandy Wildcats left the court at halftime with a 24-19 lead versus the Muenster Hornets to tip off the second day of the UIL semi-finals. The Hornets managed the paint with 38 rebounds and 15 second chance points that led to a 50-43 victory.

Junior interior man, Logan Cook had more than half the team's total rebounds as he finished with 20 out of 38. Cook added seven points. The Wildcats couldn't match up with the reach of 6-foot-6 Cook as they totaled only 26 rebounds as a team.

Three Muenster guards reached double figures. Juniors Blayne Jones and Blake Hoepfner each finished the game with 14 points and sophomore John Weger added 11.

Big Sandy's Angel Bullock had 13 to lead the Wildcats and teammate Benson Williams tallied 12 of his own.
