3D gets their Title, Proskills Austin invades the metroplex, plus more

Red Division Championship Game: 3D Empire 77 Texas Hardwork 62

After losing two weeks ago in the Ft. Worth GASO, 3D Empire redeemed themselves with a 77-62 championship win over Texas Hardwork. The usual crew excelled for 3D, Ryan Agarwal (Coppell 2022) with 20 points and Anthony Black (Coppell 2022) poured in 23 points. Black had several highlights dunking the ball on breakaways. Hardwork had Austin Nunez (SA Wagner 2022) leading the charge with 14 points and Joseph Vanzant(Midland Christian 2021) put up 15 points.

Green Division Championship Game: Dallas Showtyme 16U Rise 65 Cy-Fair Elite 60

In the finals of the Green Division, Dallas Showtyme 16U Rise hung on to win 65-60 over Cy-Fair Elite. Showtyme had a nice 64-49 advantage with 2:08 remaining when both teams emptied their bench’s. Cyp-Fair outscored Showtyme 11-1 over the last two minutes. Showtyme placed four players in double digits with Dorian Goodman (Dallas Lincoln 2022) hitting 12 points, Davion Sykes (Duncanville 2022) added 16 and Justin Haires (Sulphur Springs 2022) managed 11 points. Elijah Gonzales (Del Valle 2021) and Elijah Thomas (Austin LBJ 2021) kept Cy-Fair close with 17 and 13 points.

Black Division Championship Game: Decatur 80 DFW Urban Elite 68

Decatur took the title 80-68 over DFW Urban Elite. The game turned into a foul fest late as Urban Elite attempted to cut into the Decatur lead. Decatur was up to the challenge as they connected on numerous foul shots. Calaway Dykes (Decatur 2021), 6’8” Sam Wren (Decatur 2021) and 6’5” Garrett Rodgers (Decatur 2022) were singled out as leaders during the three-day tournament. Dykes produced 37 points in the title game for Decatur, which was the GASO high for championship contest. DFW was powered by Makhi Dorsey (Plano 2022) 16 points, Kyron Henderson (Kimball 2022) hit 17 points and Chris Wilson (McKinney North 2022) ended up with 15 points.

Blue Division Championship Game: Pro Skills 17U Austin 57 Southern Assault 16U 54

Pro Skills 17U Austin got away with a 57-54 win over Southern Assault. The game went right down to the wire with Braedyn Dawes hitting 2 of 4 foul shots in the last 11 seconds of the game. Southern Assault had several opportunities, but couldn’t convert. Dawes (Vista Ridge 2021) led the way for Pro Skills with 17 points followed by Luke Kiser (Burnet 2021) with 14. Southern Assault was paced by Ron Lindsey’s (Guyer 2022) 15 points and Brandon Walker(Faith Family 2022) with 13.

Orange Division Championship Game: ATX Power 46 Team ESBY 17U 40

Rob Wade (McCallum 2021) showed the way in ATX Power’s 46-40 win over Team ESBY in the Orange Division title game. It was a low scoring affair with both teams playing aggressive defense. Antonio Pavea (Duncanville 2021) was the ring leader for Team ESBY with 13 points.

Drive Nation pulled away to win the White Division Championship over Texas Pro 70-66. Drive Nation was powered by Jakobe Walker (McKinney 2023) with 14 points and teammate Ronald Holland (Duncanville 2023) answered the call with 23 points. KJ Lewis (Chapin 2023), Jaland Lowe (Kinkaid 2023), and Drew Steffe all finished in double digits Texas Pro.

Gold Division Championship Game: THP White Elite 62 ATX Lockdown 2022 56

In the final title game of the day, THP White Elite took care of ATX Lockdown 2022 62-56. 6’6” Petia Dogale (Austin High 2021) produced one of the high games of the GASO finishing with 29 points to lead his comrades. This was almost half of his team’s total point production. ATX Lockdown had a much more balanced attack with TJ Johnson (Belton 2022) taking the scoring honors with 18 points.
