Here are five teams to keep an eye on throughout the showcase, in alphabetical order:
AUSTIN AKINS
Players to watch: Yolonzo Moore, Malcolm Canada, Jeremy Mendez
Notable: What Akins lacks in height, it makes up for with heart. Akins likes to run the floor on offense and loves to play hard-nosed defense. Moore has verbally committed to play for Harford.
AUSTIN BOWIE
Players to watch: Paul Baxter, Connor Robinson, Jacob Varela
Notable: Keep an eye out on this team looking to show it belongs with the big dogs. Baxter was the UIL District 25-5A Newcomer of the Year last season. Robinson, a blue-collar workhorse, is capable of averaging a double-double.
FLOWER MOUND
Players to watch: Jordan Green, Andrew Werner, Jacob Moses
Notable: The only team from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex could be the team to watch if its star comes to play. Green, a Texas A&M commitment, can either take over a game or frustrate opponents with his ability to incorporate his teammates.
SAN ANTONIO REAGAN
Players to watch: Tre Demps, Max Yon, Matt Madell
Notable: Reagan has a solid foundation and is looking to have a breakout season. Demps (Northwestern) and Yon (Air Force) are college-ready athletes who are expected to take their team far.
SAN ANTONIO TAFT
Players to watch: Marshall Harris, Dylan Elias, Deondre Logan
Notable: Taft has tons of talent and should compete with a loaded backcourt. Harris has committed to play college ball The Citadel, and Elias is headed to Northern Colorado next season.
