Memorial Weekend Game Faces

It's always nice to have a spark off the bench, especially when that player can lead a team to victory. Sophomore Max Abmas of Texas Wolverines 3D scored 19 points in A 55-54 win over Corpus Christi Bruins. Ambas drilled four threes in the victory. Ambas is a combo with good skills and makes the right plays. He is always under control and goes about his business on the court in a calm manner.

Jayden Bennett is back from a minor wrist injury that set him back for two months. Bennett helped his Pro Skills 17s to a 2-0 start in pool play in which he had two breakout performances. Bennett hit 17 points versus HD Toros and 21 in his match up against Dallas Seawolves. Bennett is smart with the ball in his hands and quickly decides to turn the corner to get to the rim or pull up for jumpers. Good change of pace in the open court. Bennett is an intriguing prospect after two games.

Texas Hardwood Prospects guard Davion Buster went off for 21 points on 5 3-pointers in a 20-point win, 74 54 over Texas Tigers Gold late Saturday night. Buster moved around the perimeter stroking the wide open three. The game was played at a fast pace which played into the hands of Buster and his own personal style.

A rising sophomore, Dylan Disu of Texas Hardwood Prospect had been impressive over the past few GASO weekends. He is a lean built basketball player who has shown some versatility. He can stroke the three and recognizes when the defense is guarding him closely he will attack the rim.

A big man with a huge upside is Texas Wolverines 3D Sam Freeman, another sophomore. The wide-body big creates space and makes moves around the basket. Still a little raw, Freeman will get on the glass and defend. At times, he shows an aggressive outburst whether to score or to make a defensive play.

Not putting up points on the board but showing a lot of upside was YIIS Texas Future 16s sophomore, 6-foot-9 Simeon German. He is raw offensively, but is bouncy and gets back on defense. German showed promise as a rebounder and shot-blocker.

Javonne Lowery of Basketball University 16 Gold has a great looking basketball body and athleticism to go with it. The class of 2019 forward will overpower his opponent on his way to the basket and punch it in. He scored 24 points against Bluechips SWE in a nine-point victory 75 -66.

A solid forward who will stretch the floor is Michael Underwood from Texas Bluechips SWE. Underwood has a soft touch and moves well without the ball. He has nice length and will dive inside to grab a board or score when he has a mid-match.
