Hill was never in danger even with North Lake hanging around in the first half within seven points of the lead. -But the Blazers went to the locker room at the half down 17, 42-25. In the second half, North Lake found themselves getting within 10, 54-44 with 12:12 on the clock, but that would be the closest the game would get as the Rebels took care of the ball and the glass.

“We started zoning lately and it has helped us because of our length,” said head Rebel coach Swede Trenkle. “We had some guys step up and score for us and they scored from different spots.”

Helping with the scoring load were freshmen Antanee Pinkard (17) Shamar Bailey (15), Braxton Shaw (13), and sophomore Simpson Anderson (12).

“What they have done over the last four games is they have rebounded, and they make sure we don’t lose that category,” Trenkle said. “Shamar and Braxton can both score from different areas of the court and will score inside and from the perimeter.”

The Rebels hit nine threes in the game. Anderson hit three, and both Bailey and Shaw contributed two threes each.

There was only one North Lake Blazer who reached double-digit scoring. Freshman DeAnthony Owens finished with 12. Sophomore Akeem Black tallied nine points.
