NBA GOLD: DC Kings edge Arkansas team
The DC Kings defended the Texas turf by rallying in the second half to clip the Arkansas Hawks, 51-47.
The Kings actually trailed, 29-24, entering the second half but took advantage of consistent shooting by Cedric Scott, who made all 10 of his points in the second half. Dezmond Thomas led the Kings with 14 points.
Emmanuel Adoyi scored 13 points, and David Berete and Myles Taylor had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Hawks.
NBA SILVER: SW Elite victorious over Rangers
The SW Elite Black put on a defensive show in the first half and parlayed the effort into a 62-44 win against Triumph Rangers Varsity.
SW Elite held the Rangers to 15 first-half points. Offensively, Bobby Farquah and Cederick Johnson scored 34 of the team's 62 points. Farquah was the high-point man with 20 for the evening.
David Lacey was the Rangers' only player to score in double figures, as he finished with 14.
NBA BRONZE: Texas Select trumps Panthers
The Texas Select-Wright used a big second half to overcome a first-half deficit and earn a 76-69 victory over the Corpus Christi Panthers.
The Panthers led, 38-34, at halftime, but the Select used the shooting of Cedric Carter to aid in a comeback. Carter scored 13 of his team-high 25 points in the second half.
The win negated a solid offensive performance from the Panthers' Raymond Robinson, who scored 20 of his game-high 28 points in the first half.
NCAA RED: Arkansas team beats Kansas team
In the only championship game featuring two out-of-state teams, the Arkansas Wings Red beat the Kansas-based Pumas 2012 Blue, 51-46.
Marshawn Arnold led the Wings with 22 points. Grant Greenberg was the Pumas' top man with 17 points.
NCAA BLUE: IBF wins another NCAA title
It's becoming a given that if the Islanders Basketball Foundation chooses to compete in the NCAA Division, it's going to be in the spotlight on the final day of the tournament.
IBF won its fourth GASO NCAA title since May by defeating Arkansas-based Fat City, 66-55, Monday afternoon. IBF has won six GASO championships in the last two seasons, five of them coming on the NCAA level.
Tyler Friedel scored 28 points in the win, while teammate Scott Mammel added 17.
NIT: Metro Mustangs shine against Thunder
The Metro Mustangs 2014 had four players in double figures in a 75-58 win against the Texas Thunder.
The Mustangs once led by more than 20 thanks to the play of twins Erick Neal and Derrick Neal. Both players scored 15 points in the win. Teammates Jeremiah Jefferson and Takedrick Brown added 13 for the Mustangs.
Donte Parker scored 19 points to lead the Thunder.
