SABO Gold 61 Dallas Showtyme Elite 55

SABO Gold overpowered Dallas Showtyme to win the NBA Championship bracket in the last game of the Memorial Day GASO. River Reed (SA Reagan 2017) finished a monster weekend with a 14 point title game performance, while Jeff Fesperman (SA Churchill) added three treys en route to an 11 point game, and UTEP commit Kobe Magee (Brandeis 2017) chipped in with 9. SABO, who started the tournament 1-2 in pool play, came out fast to lead by 14 at the half and stretched their lead to 22 around the 9-minute mark in the second frame. That is when Dallas Showtyme began chipping away at their lead, cutting the deficit to 6 with 4:30 to play. Fesperman traded threes with Javon Levi (Killeen Shoemaker 2017) down the stretch to keep SABO from being caught, although Dallas Showtyme didn't go down without a fight. Showtyme had two decent looks to make the contest a one-possession game in the closing stages but just couldn't come up with the bucket and the game ended with SABO as 6 point victors. Odessey Keeling led all scorers with 21 in the championship game, while teammate Levi added 10.

"I feel like our intensity was a lot stronger in bracket play. After we lost those two games in our pool it made us play pissed off," 2017 guard Kobe Magee said postgame. "We just came back stronger after those losses and played really well."

"I felt like when we hit rough spots in pool play we kind of fell apart and that showed in the results. Now when we hit those spots we come together as a team," 2017 forward River Reed said. "I think now we're coming towards our peak, we haven't peaked yet. We just gotta keep bouncing back."
