Free-throws the difference in Cedar Hills win

Cedar Hill - It was a game of miscues for both the Cedar Hill Longhorns and the Frisco Liberty Redhawks Tuesday night as the two teams met on the Longhorns home court. Having the advantage of playing in front of their student body the more athletic Longhorns and their havoc defense propelled them to a 75-69 victory.
Cedar Hill was led by senior guard Leon Sneed and his 12 points, while junior teammate B.J. Simmons chipped in with nine points of his own off three three-pointers.

"This game showed how early in the year it is for us,' said Head Coach Brandon Thomas of Cedar Hill. "Guys are learning their roles and coming around on how we want to play. We want to apply pressure and get our opponents into their bench, and we did both just good enough tonight."
Thomas and his Longhorns were able to get to the Redhawks bench early as Liberty had to go long stretches with their two best players on the bench with foul trouble, senior Carter Brown and sophomore Reggie Chaney.
"We were able to get their bigs and main guard into foul trouble. But at the end of the day, we didn't shoot the ball well, and we didn't take care of the ball down the stretch, but it's a win," Thomas added. "At this point in the season no one is a finished product, and we are still learning as a team."
"We played hard as a team," said senior leader Sneed of Cedar Hill. "Our press is the key to us winning games, and if you can't get the ball up court against us, you're going to be in trouble against us. We want to force the bigs to dribble the ball, and I feel that we did a good job tonight."
In the third quarter, Simmons hit back-to-back threes that gave the Longhorns breathing room.
"When I took my first three it felt good in the first quarter, so I knew that if I was in the right spot tonight I would take my shot," said Simmons. "In the [third quarter] both of my threes were in rhythm, and I couldn't pass those two shots up."
The Longhorns had nine different scorers, and went 25-34 from the charity stripe while Frisco Liberty also missed nine out of their 27 attempts. Cedar Hill was also able to limit Brown to only seven points, and Chaney's foul trouble led to him exiting the game midway through the fourth, but the 6-foot-7 sophomore finished with 15 points.
Senior guard Bradley Saad for Frisco Liberty led all scorers with 16 points. Cedar Hill also got assistance from senior Jaelun Hollomon and his 11 points. Hollomon went five of seven from the free-throw line.
