Family Over Everything 17-U Elite 67 3-D Empire 56

FOE went to a delay game up by 10 with 1:32 remaining and coasted to a 67-56 win over 3-D Empire. The guard dominated team is one of the quickest teams at the GASO. Donerio Davenport (2021/Mansfield) of FOE showed his quickness and explosion to the basket on several occasions, while Shakiru Odunewu (2021/Universal Academy) at 6’9”, was a strong factor inside finishing with 18 points. Jalen Nettles (2022/Southwest Christian) kicked in 15 points and Reese Smith (2022/Hebron) followed with 12 points. Kobe Wiggins (2021/Wylie) showed off his ball handling skills late for FOE to put the game on ice. 3-D Empire went to full-court pressure in the second half to no avail. FOE repeatedly broke the pressure for easy baskets. 3-D Empire has many of the same talented players from a year ago and will be a tough out in the tournament. Anthony Black’s(2022/Coppell) skills were on display with 24 points and his power dunk over two FOE players was impressive. Naz Brown (2022/L.D. Bell) put up 15 points and Alec Zambie (2021/John Paul-Plano) finished with 11 points. Three players contribute 50 of 3-D Empire’s total 56 points.

Houston Hoops EYB 2023 61 Texas Elite 360 34

Houston Hoops took control in the 2nd half, as they turned a 21-20 halftime advantage into a 61-34 blowout over Texas Elite 360. Nine different players found their way into the scoring column for Hoops with Christopher Johnson (2023/Ft. Bend Elkins) scoring a game high 25 points. The size and incredible length was the difference, as Texas Elite was held to only 14 second half points. Kendrick De Luna (2023/SA Cornerstone) is considered one of the top 2023 players in the country and dominated inside for Houston Hoops. Every shot was challenged by Hoops crew. Other standouts for the Houston were Zyon Little (2023/Clear Brook) and Wesley Yates (2023/Beaumont United). The defensive pressure got to Texas Elite, as the turnovers resulted into easy baskets for Hoops. One of the quickest guards at the GASO is Orlando Horton (2023/Clear Falls), who looks as if he should being singing in the church choir. Horton ability to push the ball and penetrate enabled Hoops to come away with several easy baskets. The game highlight was Chris Johnson’s spectacular dunk in the 2nd half.

Urban DFW Elite 17s 57 SABO Gold 48

Urban DFW Elite defeated SABO Gold 57-48 in a tough hard-fought game. Drew Crippen (2021/Mansfield) led the way for Urban Elite with 16 points followed by Chase Ross (2021/Plano West) with 15 points. SABO Gold was paced by Julian Sanchez (2021/Central Catholic) with 14 points and Hunter Darling (2021/Boerne Champion) was good for 11 points.



Tx Impact 4:13 AE 61 Ft. Worth Firm 52

Texas Impact jumped out to an early lead and went on to defeated Ft. Worth Firm 61-52. Jacob Millhouse (2021/Preston Christian) and Cale Martens (2021/FM Marcus) did most of the damage for Tx Impact with 16 and 11 points. Jacob Lewis (2021/FW OD Wyatt) carried a heavy load for the Ft. Worth team with 14 points on four 3-pointers.



Tx Impact 17-U 63 Triumph 17-U Gold 52

Tx Impact led start to finish over Triumph 17-U with 63-52 win. Impact has a slew of talent led by Jalen Lake (2021/Waxahachie). Lake fueled the Impact attack with 4 threes for a total of 17 points. Lake also provided the games highlight with a furious one-handed slam dunk. Other key contributors were Imo Essien (2021/Bishop Lynch) and Zhuric Phelps (2021/Duncanville). Triumph 17-U stayed close throughout with Hamilton Hamm (2021/Dallas Carter) again providing outside shooting and dribble penetration. Hamm knocked down 5 threes and added 21 points to the Triumph cause. Other standouts for Triumph were Noah McDonald (2021/Lake Highlands) with 11 points along with Addarin Scott (2021/Dallas Carter).

Family Over Everything 17-U 62 THP Elite Blue 44

Family pulled down another victory with a 62-44 win over THP Elite Blue. Shakiru Odunewu (2021/Universal Academy) had another strong outing with 18 points followed by C.J. Hall (2021/Mansfield Summit) with 12 points. Donovan Hernandez (2021/Frisco Independence) and Kobe Wiggins (2021/Wylie) were standouts handling the ball. THP Elite Blue saw Nate Brooks (2021/Waco) hit 14 points and L.D. Butler (2021/Bowie) came away with 12 points.

Houston Hoops 69 3-D Empire 2023 59

Houston Hoops and 3-D Empire went toe to toe in one of the best games of day two. Hoops held on to win 69-59 against a scrappy 3-D Empire team. 3-D Empire grabbed momentum down 53-50 with just under five minutes remaining on the clock. Hoops called timeout to regroup and Orlando Horton (2023/Clear Falls) inserted back into the lineup for Houston with his team on the ropes. The lighting quick Horton proceeded to take his team home with ball-handling and passing down the stretch. The win was far from easy for Hoops with 3-D Empire making numerous runs throughout the contest. The same cast of characters provided the scoring for Hoops with Christopher Johnson (2023/FB Elkins) and Kendrick De Luna (2023/SA Cornerstone) both finishing with 12 points apiece. Zyon Little (2023/Clear Brook) kicked in 13 points for the winners. 3-D Empire had a strong effort from Gehrig Normand (2023/Birdville), Sammon Johnson (2023/Colleyville Heritage), Wayne Pritts (2023) and Carson Jach (2023/Colleyville Hertiage).



Triumph 16-U Gold 65 Dallas Showtime 16s 64

Triumph led at halftime 34-25 and held on against Dallas Showtime 65-64. Jerqualen Parks (2022/Kimball) and Arterio Morris (2022/Kimball) came alive in the late minutes of the game and pushed Triumph Gold to the limit. But in the end, Adam Kirby (2022/Woodrow Wilson) and Jason Justice (2022/Cedar Hill) proved to be to skilled for Triumph 16-U. Kirby hit two key foul shots late to seal the victory. Kirby finished with 17 points and Noah Calhoun (2022/Woodrow Wilson) added 14 points for Triumph. Parks came away with 17 points and Kyron Henderson (2022/Kimball) put up 14 points for Showtime.
