TexasHoops evaluators single out 5 more players worthy of a write up from the DFW GASO, this time looking at players that made their mark in the frontcourt. Lyndon Cook has the analysis:

Taylor
Taylor

Cam Taylor - TX Legion Elite - 2021

Taylor really turned up his level of play down the stretch of the high school season to help Mansfield Timberview to another state tournament berth, and hasn't lost a step in the shutdown induced layoff, dramatically affecting the game on both ends of the court. Taylor blocks shots, rebounds with authority, and can put the ball on the floor as the middle man in a press break. While his outside shot is still developing, Taylor is one of those rare 6-foot-8 bigs that can put their head down and attack the rim in the halfcourt. It's almost a guarantee that more than a few college coaches will be reaching out in the near future.

Holden
Holden

Jarron Holden II - Arlington Rise - 2021

Holden is pretty close to the dictionary definition of a sleeper - exploding onto our radar in the 2021 class with a series of strong outings over the GASO weekend. Holden is a bouncy athlete with a nose for the ball and a smooth operator in transition, where he does most of his production. The Cedar Hill product's versatility really stood out as he can score in a variety of ways, but is best as a long-limbed slasher getting into the lane. But he is a sleeper no more, having announced himself in a big way to the community thanks to his excellent play this weekend.

Woods
Woods

Damonze Woods - Dallas Mustangs - 2022

Woods is the kind of player that operates like clockwork; you always know what he's going to bring to the table and the vast majority of the time he does just that. Woods is a force to be reckoned with in the paint on both ends, an accomplished shot blocker and rebounder in his own right that makes winning plays. Woods is highly efficient scoring the ball, using powerful drop steps to get to the rim and drawing tons of fouls. The 6-foot-6 Amarillo Sandie has also taken clear steps on the skill side of the ball, making some shifty moves getting downhill to attack the basket. While Mustangs didn't have the best weekend as a whole, Woods was a clear standout.

Ross
Ross

Chase Ross - Urban DFW Elite - 2021

Ross was another player worthy of recognition, playing with a huge chip on his shoulder as he attempted to dunk everything and put on a show for the fans and coaches in attendance. Ross was making shots at a high percentage and showing a nice change of pace to break down defenders and get into the paint where more times than not he was finishing above the rim. Ross is a lethal weapon on the fastbreak, getting out quick and making the right play, even if that is calling his own number and skying for a jam. Ross cemented himself as a player in desperate need of an updated spot in the new 2021 rankings.

Lindsey
Lindsey

Kyeron Lindsey - Southern Assault 16u - 2022

Denton Guyer's Kyeron Lindsey has always been a prospect with undeniable upside as a bigger forward with basketball smarts and a great motor on both ends, but now it looks as if he's turned those projections into reality if this weekend's play was anything to go by. Lindsey controls the glass, runs the floor like a deer and elevates well to finish at the hole. He can step out and hit the jumper around the outside, and has a nice series of moves from the mid-post to get into the lane and score. He may still be one for the future, but many coaches will have their eyes on him come next summer.
