Darius McBride commits to SMU
Darius McBride is on his official visit to SMU and the 6-foot-4 forward has committed to the SMU Mustangs.
McBride talks commitment
“SMU has been recruiting me for a while,” said McBride. “Just getting on campus and experiencing what they have to offer was great. Coach (Tim) Jankovich is a player’s coach and a great coach at that. How the players act around him, what they say about him, I feel that he was a perfect coach for me.
“The coaching staff are great as well. Player development is a big thing at SMU and the opportunities they give you to improve your game are solely based upon the work you put in and I love that.”
“The basketball portion is amazing, but what really sold me was the Cox School of Business. Hearing about the opportunities you can have after graduating. The alumni network is big here and the people that have gone through the Cox School of Business have had extreme success.
“The academics mixed with the basketball made it a no-brainer. The campus is beautiful in a very nice location and it felt like home. The feeling I had over the weekend was great which ultimately led to my decision of committing here.”
