Five-star shooting guard delays decision

RANKINGS: Class of 2013 - 2014 - 2015

The plan was for the world was going to find out where five-star Keith Frazier is going to college Thursday afternoon. Turns out the world will have to wait at least a little longer.

A 6-foot-5 shooting guard at Dallas (Texas) Kimball who ranks No. 22 in the class of 2013, Frazier was set to reveal his choice between Texas Tech and SMU in a press conference at a local middle school.

However, after a late Wednesday night meeting with family and coaches, Frazier is still torn about what to do.

Additionally, Texas A&M has quietly worked its way back into the mix and is now a third finalist for his services.

Mentor and coach Erven Davis confirmed via text message that Frazier isn't ready to decide.

"Decision will be delayed," texted Davis. "The kid is torn between those three schools. Not ready yet."

The decision to postpone things comes after a wild day of rumors and even a reported -- and then refuted -- commitment to Texas Tech.

Speculation for a while had been that SMU was the team to beat; Frazier was even on campus on Wednesday. However, led by interim coach Chris Walker, Tech has been making a big charge. Given that Walker hasn't been hired permanently yet, the decision to wait could also be taken as a sign that the Raiders lead.

Then there is A&M. The Aggies appeared to be totally out of the equation just a few weeks ago but are now back in the mix. They were in town to see Frazier on Tuesday and have at least worked their way into the final group.

Currently, there is no new timetable set for a decision from Frazier. The talented senior leaves for the McDonald's All-American game on Saturday, and the status of his recruitment is a new storyline to follow during game week and practices.
