Texas WR visits Iowa

Texas wide receiver T.V. Williams is currently on a road trip traveling to some of the colleges that have offered him as he looks to narrow things down and eventually make a decision. On Friday, the three-star prospect was in Iowa City to learn more about the Hawkeyes who have been recruiting him heavily ever since they offered last month. We caught up with Williams after the visit to get his thoughts on Iowa, the latest on his recruiting, and much more.

Q: Can you just talk about this trip first of all? Who all is with you and where have you been so far?

WILLIAMS: It's David Tachie and then my dad, my grandfather, and me. So far we've visited Kentucky, Nebraska, and now we just finished up at Iowa.

Q: What all did you get to do at Iowa today?

WILLIAMS: We basically just took a tour and got to see the campus a lot so that was pretty cool. Probably the thing I liked the most about the campus was how it intertwines with the downtown area. I liked that a lot.

Q: Since they offered you, how much have you talked to Iowa and who is that you usually hear from?

WILLIAMS: I've been talking to Coach Kennedy a lot. We talk pretty regularly. I also talked to Coach Ferentz about two weeks ago and then we spent a lot of time today talking in his office. It was good to see those guys today.

Q: What was your first impression of meeting the coaching staff at Iowa?

WILLIAMS: Coach Ferentz is a really good coach and he's been there for a long time. He's going into his fifteenth year there I believe. He's had multiple opportunities to go to bigger programs or go to the NFL, but he chose to stay at Iowa, so it really tells you a lot about his character and the guys around him, and I really like that.

Q: Talking to Coach Kennedy, how do they see you fitting in if you were to go there?

WILLIAMS: They've just been telling me that they need more speed. They're trying to change up the offense a little bit and get more up-tempo so they need some more speed on the field.

As a junior, the 5-foot-10, 160-pound Williams finished with 45 catches for 798 yards and 11 touchdowns for McKinney (TX) High School. Currently, he holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Nebraska, Kentucky, Cal , Houston, Oregon State, North Texas, Navy, SMU, Tulsa, and Toledo, among others.
