Top DE prospect remains interested in Black Knights

If the 2012 season has revealed anything for Army, it is their need to pull in and develop quality defensive line talent, at both the tackle and end positions ... some of which can hit the ground running.

One player that has been on the Black Knights' must get list for some time now is Solo Ceesay out of Saint Louis (Mo.) John Burroughs School prospect

The 6-foot-3, 245 pound prospect claims offers from Army, New Mexico, Air Force, Navy, Miami (Oh.) and Pennsylvania and stated that school see him at one and/or two positions defensively. "I'm mainly being recruiting as a defensive end, but some schools have asked me if I am willing to play outside linebacker ... which is yes," he adds.

Ceesay is has one final game remaining in his high school football career, but it appears the DE prospect is starting to gear up when it comes to scheduling visits to various schools.

"I did get word from California Berkley today and they want me to come down there for a official visit November 30th and hopefully I can get an offer from them," he shared. "KU, I'm going on an unofficial this weekend and visiting Cal, but I haven't set up any other ones. I want to study petroleum engineering and KU is one of the top one and Cal too and I do like the big state schools."

But Ceesay also took time to briefly discuss the schools that have officially offered him.

Air Force - I think they're a good program and they have a good scheme. I have been told that I would fit there if I were to go there by a lot of other people.

Army - I like Army because I really like the defensive line coach ... Coach Mumford (John). He's been a great guy for me and he's like a mentor and you can look up to him. He calls often and I really like Army.

I didn't watch the Army-Air Force game, but I watched the highlights. I really the schedule Army plays better than Air Force's. Army plays teams like Boston College and Rutgers.

Miami (Oh.) - I like the school. I went up there and I've been talking to coach Ron Carpenter and he's a big recruiter, good guy and talks to me often. He makes you know for sure that the school wants you.

New Mexico - They are one of the schools that first showed interest in me and visited many times before. I like them and they're a good school. I might go visit there, but I'm not sure yet.

Navy - I went up there and they seem to offer me after they got word that I got offered by Miami of Ohio and I haven't talk to them that much, but they have a good program.

University of Pennsylvania - It's a great school, great academics, but one of the lower Division I schools. I'm trying to play at a major Division I school, but also get the best education possible.

As Ceesay's recruiting picks up, it will have to take a backseat to at least one more high school game for the talented defensive prospect. Presently Burroughs maintains an unblemished 13-0 record that has them ranked 9th in the state and 238th in the nation.

Ceesay and his teammates will be heading into the final round of the Missouri Class 3 playoffs and taking on Maryville High School on Friday for the state championship. This is a Burroughs team that has run through there competition, which the majority of their opponent came out of Class 4. Their fans base has witnessed the team put up 50 or more points six times and over 30 plus point, four times.
