Brennan enjoys official visit to Army

Back in July, 6-foot-3, 275 pound Devlin Brennan made an unofficial visit to Army, where the prospect out of Poughkeepsie (NY) Our Lady of Lourdes High School had this to say.

"Afterwards me and Coach Tripp start talking about the whole Army program," shared Brennan in his July interview with GoBlackKnights.com surrounding his time with the coaching staff. "Then we toured the facilities and I thought they were awesome ... some of the best facilities I have seen. The weight room was gorgeous and it was massive. It kind of blew my mind. I saw the indoor practice field and it was very nice too ... they have great facilities."

"Oh yeah, I'm totally open to West Point, that's one of my big options," he adds. "I can really see myself playing there."

Now fast forward to present day and the offensive center took a recent trip back to West Point, but this time for an official visit. In addition to visit, Brennan had an opportunity to see the Army in action against Boston College out of the ACC.

"Yes, I went to see Army play BC," confirms the offensive line prospect. "I wasn't able to do the pre-game tour because of traffic. It was a pretty packed game, but we just got in and watched the game ... it was pretty exciting ... we just made it time to get to our seats when the game was about to begin."

So, what were Brennan's thoughts of the game itself and the game atmosphere at Michie Stadium? "I'll be honest with you," shares the New York Preseason All-State player. "At first it look like BC was going to pull through and win, but Army showed a lot of heart and they came through with the victory. I was very impressed."

"Oh yeah, yeah," said Brennan when asked if he envisioned himself out there against an opponent like Boston College. "I mean, Army's disadvantage is their size, but I mean they were just as strong and as fast as BC was."

"I was watching the Army center a lot and he's pretty good," declares Brennan, when discussing Remington Trophy candidate, Ryan Powis. And being at their stadium .... it was great place to watch a game."

Brennan has yet to take any other official visits, but said that he is taking his time when it comes to his recruiting and more specifically, making a college decision.

"I'm still weighing all my options, so I'm going to wait awhile," he adds. And during the process of waiting, Brennan hopes that he and his teammates at Our Lady of Lourdes (6-0) can continue their undefeated streak as they take on Beacon on Saturday.

Presently, Our Lady of Lourdes is ranked 34th in New York state.
