2014 prospect Sione Palelei is one of Louisiana top HS running backs
Sione Palelei is a 5-foot-9, 193-pound running back who just finished his sophomore year at East Ascension High in Louisiana. Since his freshman year he has been the starting running back, and also received a lot of attention from college coaches.
He has interest in many of the SEC schools as well as in BYU. He and his family lived in Utah for a time before moving to Louisiana. He is also friends with BYU commits Merrill Taliauli who goes by Meti, and Moroni Laulu-Pututau .
His high school coach, Coach Bourgeois gave a his thoughts on what makes Sione "Boo" a good running back.
"I've been doing this for 25 years had some good ones, but he is the best I've had. He has everything you need, and you're gonna say 'oh, here goes another coach saying that about his kid' but the film takes care of that. He has low 4.4 speed; he has ran that at an LSU camp, another camp and a combine. The other thing that makes him a complete back is his agility, his body is real, real flexible. He gets in situations and his body is all over the place, he is not like that track looking running back where is always straight up, he twists and turns."
Right Palelei is very concentrated on his high school season and has not really worried about the colleges showing interest in him. He told his favorites running backs to watch are and were Adrian Peterson, Ladanion Tomlinson, Trent Richardson, Fahu Tahi, Reno Mahe and Fui Vakapuna.
