Rhode Island OL staying busy

Tyshon Henderson is one of a few Rhode Island prospects receiving interest from FBS schools from the current junior class and over the weekend he was in Chestnut Hill visiting with the Eagles.

It wasn't Henderson's first time at BC. In fact, the 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle is very familiar with the Boston College program. He didn't see much that he hadn't seen before but it was another good opportunity to mingle with the people that have been instrumental in his recruitment.

"We got there around 9 (a.m.) and we met with the strength coach and then the academic people," Henderson said.

"We met with the position coaches and we went into a team meeting and position meetings.

"After that we toured the campus and then they had a scrimmage between the offense and the defense."

The Middletown (R.I.) St. George's School lineman was impressed with the level of competition at the scrimmage.

"It was intense," Henderson said. "I really enjoyed seeing that."

Meeting with the coaches was also a highlight of the trip.

"I talked to Jim Bollman, the offensive line coach, and the head coach (Frank Spaziani). I didn't really talk to them one-on-one but I like Coach Bollman a lot. The head coach is cool, too.

"I'd say I have a high interest in them. I really like the school."

Henderson is still waiting for his first offer to come in but he believes it's only a matter of time.

On April 21 he will visit Bryant and the next day he will be at Stony Brook.

"I talked to Mike Siravo and he wants me to come up to the camp in the summer so they can see me play in front of them. BC is definitely near the top.

"I like Delaware State a lot, too. My uncle used to play for Rutgers so my grandfather is trying to set up an appointment for me to go there next Saturday."
