Eddins Commits To Cowboys
The Cowboy footbal program picked up a junior college defensive end when Justyn Eddins, a 6-foot-4, 240-pounds prospect from Santa Clarita (Ca.) College of the Canyons committed after visiting Laramie last weekend.
Eddins should bring the Pokes a much needed pass rusher to compliment some promising returnees and add competition to the position when he arrives this summer.
Eddins told Tom Lacock of GoWyoGo.com before his visit to UW that he brings speed to the position after finishing the season with 50 tackles and 7 sacks.
Pressuring the quarterback is an area Wyoming needs to improve on next season, if they hope to increase defensive productivity.
"Mentally I learned to never give up, and the training I've went through I've learned so many different things," said Eddins. "I've increased my speed, my strength and my weight."
Eddins is a hard worker since arriving in junior college while increasing his size and speed, and will have three years to play two seasons. The Cowboys hope he can come in an make an immediate impact.
Eddins received offers from Wyoming, Western Michigan, Northern Colorado and Sacramento State and was in contact with New Mexico State, Texas State, Arkansas State, Northern Illinois and Buffalo.
Wyoming appears have reached it's quota with the Eddins commitment and has 22 commitments plus greyshirt quarterback Tommy Thornton who's scholarship will count toward the 2013 class.
Head coach Dave Christensen and his staff have six junior college players already enrolled for spring semester and ready to particpate in spring drills, while two high school commitments graduated early and will also participate in the spring.
