Jordan is high on Wake
Charlotte (NC) Mallard Creek wide receiver Jorian Jordan's only offer comes from Towson, but his list will likely grow quickly.
Duke, Harvard, Indiana, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn, Princeton and Wake Forest are also showing interest in Jordan.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder was in Winston-Salem Saturday, Feb. 25 for Wake's Junior Day.
"I love Wake Forest," Jordan said. "Its academics are off the chain. It's private, so not many students in their classrooms. I'm an academic guy first. I loved their football field. The coaches are good, and everybody is down to earth. I would like to go to school there."
He connected well with Wake's coaching staff, especially wide receivers coach and passing game co-coordinator Lonnie Galloway who is recruiting for him for the Demon Deacons.
"I got a nice feel for him," Jordan said. "He seems like a good coach and a good person. We talked about receiver things and we had our rivals there, which is Vance High School. The whole trip was exciting, because our rivals were there. Everything got a little heated. He liked to see the heated side of us and me as a player to see how I confident I was. It was a good experience."
Jordan plans to camp at Duke, UNC, Wake and maybe Indiana and Notre Dame too this summer. He camped with the Deacs last summer.
He participated in the Nike Combine Saturday, and plans to attend the Shrine Bowl Combine next month.
In Mallard Creek's run to the fourth round of the state playoffs and a 13-1 finish he caught 25 passes for 900 yards and 10 touchdowns.
"I'm the route runner," Jordan said. "I do all the routes, so if you see somebody open it's because I got them open, because my routes are too precise. I run some unbelievable routes. It's my thing I take pride in."
